Have the clue answers but cannot make the ladder connect? Enter the words in your proposed order. The checker compares neighboring words by letter position and identifies the transition that needs attention. It works in your browser without a text-generation service.
Check your ladder
What makes a valid transition?
Two neighboring rungs must have the same length and differ at exactly one position. COLD and CORD differ at position 3, so they can touch. COLD and CARD differ at positions 2 and 3, so they cannot be adjacent in this kind of ladder.
The constructed example COLD, CORD, CARD, WARD, WARM passes all four transition checks. It illustrates the rule and is not a claim about today's LinkedIn puzzle.
Why an answer can fit its clue but break the ladder
A clue may support several synonyms. CrossClimb adds a spelling constraint: the chosen answer must also connect to its neighbors. When the checker finds a broken transition, reread the two clues and check tense, singular or plural form, and spelling before replacing an answer.
For example, rearranging letters is not a one-letter substitution. FORM and FROM contain the same letters, but two positions change. Identical words also fail because zero positions change.
What this checker cannot establish
A passing result verifies the proposed sequence's letter changes. It does not verify dictionary membership, solve the clue meanings, determine the intended direction, or establish that the chain is the official answer. It does not search every possible ordering. Those decisions still depend on the puzzle's clues and endpoints.
Use A–Z words without accents, apostrophes or hyphens. The checker treats upper and lower case alike. Enter a phrase only when the puzzle itself represents it as a single uninterrupted answer.
Use the result to improve your next attempt
- Check a short segment you are confident about.
- Add the remaining words and identify the first broken transition.
- Revisit its clue or move the word to a different position.
- After every transition passes, check all clue meanings and the endpoint relationship.
