What you are solving

Patches goal and answer format

Cover the board completely with non-overlapping rectangular patches whose sizes satisfy the printed clues.

The answer is the complete partition of the grid. Every border matters: the final shapes must cover all cells, honor every clue, and leave neither gaps nor overlaps.

Rules before guesses

The checks every answer must pass

  1. 1

Each clue belongs to one rectangular or square patch.

  2. 2

A patch must contain the number of cells required by its clue.

  3. 3

Completed patches cover the entire board without sharing cells or leaving holes.

A repeatable solve

Four-step Patches strategy

01

List the factor pairs for each clue number.

02

Start with clues near corners, where fewer orientations fit.

03

Mark cells that can belong to only one nearby clue.

04

Recheck the remaining open area after every forced border.

Avoid the tiny traps

Common mistakes

  • Drawing a locally valid rectangle that makes another clue impossible.
  • Forgetting that a long thin rectangle is still a legal factor pair.
  • Leaving an isolated pocket of cells that no remaining clue can cover.

Our daily-answer policy

Accuracy first, archive second

Our scheduled monitor checks the public daily board and publishes an answer only after a game-specific validator proves the complete solution. A failed or partial response leaves the previous verified edition in place instead of replacing it with a guess.

Pinpoint, CrossClimb, Queens, Tango, Zip, and Mini Sudoku now have automated checks. Wend and Patches remain under active monitoring while their newer public solution format is verified.

Patches answers FAQ

What counts as the Patches answer?

The answer is the complete partition of the grid. Every border matters: the final shapes must cover all cells, honor every clue, and leave neither gaps nor overlaps.

Is this an official LinkedIn website?

No. This is an independent puzzle guide. LinkedIn owns and publishes the official game.

Why is there no made-up answer for today?

Because a daily answer page is useful only when the exact board and full solution have been verified. We publish the guide now and add dated coverage when that verification workflow is ready.
